Experimental and Clinical Physiology and BiochemistryAbstract. The presented review describes the structure and features of the functioning of the erythrocyte membrane. Its osmotic resistance is characterized as an indicator of the functional activity of the cell membrane. Changes under the influence of various physical and chemical factors are described. The reasons for its decrease are identified and the direction of maintaining metabolic stability under the influence of various pathological factors is indicated.
