A modern pharmacist in Ukraine is a highly educated person who combines knowledge of the disciplines of pharmaceutical, medical, and natural sciences. The profession of a pharmacist is prestigious in the modern labor market and requires the expansion of theoretical knowledge, abilities and skills in close connection with the new current challenges. For a pharmacist to be competitive, it is necessary to acquire knowledge based on basic disciplines constantly. The discipline "Biology with the basics of genetics" is an obligatory component of the educational and professional program.

The article presents the experience of teaching the discipline «Biology with the basis of genetics» for students majoring in 226 Pharmacy, industrial pharmacy full-time and part-time forms of education. Medical biology is a fundamental basic discipline, which is studied in its entirety by students of all faculties. The aim of the work is to analyze our own experience of teaching the discipline «Biology with the basis of genetics» for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
